Compiled EXE file Icon/Symbol

Hi there,

I noticed that when I compile my project to EXE file it doesn't show correctly in File Properties window or in Windows Explorer, disregarding whether I put Symbol as ICO or PNG file!

See the attached images for better understanding my problem...

This is the source for Symbol icon:



and the buggy ones:

The first one is ICO, the second is PNG...

I think it will be a good replacement for VB6 after a little improvements and minor bug fixes... :rolleyes:

I can sucessfully define an icon as symbol (via IDE project property "Symbol").
In my example, I have been using various *.ico files with different resolutions and color-depths.
The selected icon is inserted to the project as image resource.

I noticed that the background transparency of the icon gets translated to black which doesn't look too nice.
A quick&dirty work-around could be to use "white" as transparent color.
Other project properties like "Description", "Company" and "Comment" are ignored.
This area of the IDE needs some more work.

I did the same way you did and advised, but the same problem happened over and over again! :huh:

I've been using a 16x16 *.ico file with 32 bit color depth.
As mentioned before: transparency does not work yet.

I got the same problem again with your attached icon file, 16x16, 32x32 using 32 bit color depth. :S

p.s. Fresh Windows XP Pro SP3 installation, default XP theme, no modifications, latest JRE.
