Hi Swissmade!
Nice to see you again, since over a year. :)

Quoted

I wonder, how Alive is Jabaco at the moment.
As you know, Jabaco consists of more then one part.

Jabaco itself

Jabaco community
  • Manuel itselfs activity here, is nearly zero.
Questions about the future of Jabaco, are mostly ignored. Sometimes he delete those threads after some time.
For example, in this year someone asks, if Jabaco is dead and Manuel answeres, that it is alive.
Other comments to that thread (the wish of status-informations about not-published actual Jabaco-progress, screenshots of the new Jabaco, information, which changes we can expect, when a new Jabaco comes up, licensing questions of the current Jabaco, at which license with Jabaco generated binary-programs are, etc) wasn't answered. (In that thread I found out, that the Jabaco-license is the GPL3, where some big and important parts are deleted)
But as I now see, he have the complete thread deleted.
That happens often, if questions comes, he don't like.
But on the other side, until today he have payed for the server of this board. The complete jabaco.org-side is still alive.
  • The community have lost activity. But who wonder, if the main-person is mostly inactive.
At the end of last year, I have created a little statistic:
Possible I do it again, at the end of this year.
  • The hard core is from time to time working on the Jabaco Framework and still ative here. Dani used Jabaco, to develop a financial program. He also makes changes on the Framework SVN. And I changing also the Framework sources at SVN and creating the binaries for the public.
But we all haven't much time. So my JbaCompiler havent updated, since over 1.5 years. Same with all other programs (jbaBuilder, FormViewer, etc).
Lack of time and uncertainty about the license of with Jabaco compiled programs, is the main reason, why nothing happend from my side. With the exception that I improve from time to time the Framework.

Greatings

HI Teuserbl ,

Yes I'm still live and kicking.

Very busy with working.

I always go too see where I can make use of Jabaco.
Until now I have one app but its still here on my PC and not at my clients side.

Normally I program in VS.net and a little PHP.
If it comes to Java I'm not so good in this.
Jabaco seems to be the solution.

Cheers,
Swissmade

I am new to Jabaco.. Its a shame its not going anywhere, it looks like a great programming language. Maybe if there was some more documentation, then it would be better.. I really want to learn this more but the lack of documentation makes it difficult. I dont really even know wehre to start with this .. I wanted to get some programs designed but without documentation its difficult to know what I need to do.

Hi,

There is a lot of documentation.
If you know VB6 you can really start with it.

Cheers,
