Something is happening

Something is happening. There is some activity of Manuel. :)

Ok, the last Jabaco version is still from 2009.
But possible it will be changed the next time.

Yesterday (and possible today, too) he have updated the software of this forum. Do you have recognized it?
Look at the user-profile of any member. There are some changes there.
And now you can easily navigate to your favorites and so.
And in the forum the thread-opener of every thread is marked with a star:

The changes are small. But they are improvements and there is something happen by Manuel. :)

Here you can see the differences:
A forum post in the forum of 2009:

The same in 2012 (and for example two days ago):

And how it looks now:

Very attentive. I updated the community software to get some spam-protection features. To minimize the disappointment: currently I'm testing some things for the further development.

Excellent!

Hi Manuel,
Excellent! Thanks a lot. And please do keep up the spirit. Just one more push, bit more improvements and Jabaco would definitely receive reward and recognition it deserves! I love VB coding than any other programming language, and what to have output as exes and platform independence would be a great advantage. I don't like .Net, and thus I find Jabaco as the best possible alternative which gives me that VB 6 feel, especially with the robust and excellent IDE. Probably the lack of documentation is a task that can be resolved through group effort. This project deserves much more appreciation than what it currently got! Hats of to you, for whatever you have done, and I sincerely hope that much more will follow.
Love and hugs,
Sreenadh

Nice to read there is something on the way.
I'm still hoping, that I can use Jabaco again and also hope that we can use JavaFX in the feature. ;) ;)

I personally don't like JavaFX for some reasons (if you want to know them, I can count them up).

But because you are interested in it, I have now uploaded a little demo program written in Jabaco.
JavaFX is very different to Swing. Additional there seems to be a bug in Jabaco, which makes it hard to implement a JabacoFX-Framework:
If the line

Jabaco Source

1
root.getChildren.add(btn)
is in the code, then Jabaco ends up, with an "Run-time error '28': Out of stack space". But I have to test it on different systems, if it is a general bug of Jabaco or if it only existing on one of my Windows-Virtual-Machines.

Edit: Btw: To run my attached demo program, you have to include the "jfxrt.jar" in your classpath. You find it in Java7 in your lib-directory of your JRE. And in Java8 it is in your ext-directory of your lib-directory of your JRE.

Hi theuserbl,
What I like with JavaFX is the Scene Builder 2. You can create very nice Forms.
Use this with B4J.
Also what I read is, that Swing will be replaced with JavaFX :?: .

Thanks for the Sample.
"Run-time error '28': Out of stack space"

At my Notebook I have the same problem.
Crash of Jabaco IDE.
