Do breakpoints work?

I placed breakpoints in a button click event using ctrl-b, the red dots showed up in the left margin. But when I ran the project using F5, the blew right by the break points and executed everything. Do the breakpoints work for others?

More Information: I've confirmed that this is a problem with the ctrl-B shortcut for creating a breakpoint.

If I create a breakpoint by clicking in the left margin, the red marker appears and the breakpoint works.

If I create a breakpoint by pressing ctrl-B while the cursor is on the line, the red marker appears exactly like above, however the breakpoint is ignored.
