Poor documentation and samples.
For who is experienced in both tecnologies(java and visual basic) the jabaco programing is like a natural way. The conversion flow soft. But in my opnion for a new programmer it seens like an abrupt edge.
To became jabaco more popular the comunit need improve the documentation and samples.

Improve database functions to make them similar to VB. EOF, BOF, Move.Last, next, first etc. Text file databases should also be handled using similar commands. For example we can store database passwords in files on server such as in CGI-BIN directory and call it from app. Or whatever way you think is most secure. Better database handling would make it very nice as most apps require databases of some sort. Games and serious apps use text files or SQL databases nowdays.
Hi,
there is a small Example in the Jabaco framework. Other database samples are scattered throughout this forum. You might want to use the search function.
Success!

CHM or PDF Help file (Documentation)

I think it will be a good replacement for VB6 after a little improvements and minor bug fixes...
Hi! Thank you soo much for making this product!!! This is exactly what I've been looking for! Thank god I read about Jabaco in a magazine today and found this site! Wow! I can't wait to test it and convert some VB6 code!
Without testing it's hard to wish for improvements, but database support is one of my top priorities.
Vielen dank!

What about switching to a factory-based approach to GUI components?
I have been taking a peek at vaadin and it would be really cool to have a Jabaco Framework Forms implementation that use Vaadin.
I have also discussed implementing a JForm that implements both the funcionality of JDialog and JFrame in one class. As Swing and AWT is now OSS, this is just a heavy refactoring project. In this way we can implement a JF Form that is 100% compatible with VB forms. As Vaadin has such windowing functionality we would othervise have to restrict it implementing Form and Dialog, or have drastically different behaver for Desktop and Web applications.
I can tell you right away that with Jabaco as a visual editor for Vaadin web applications there are nothing to match it on the market. I would buy a copy for the full VS price immediately if it was available...
