JasonS, Yes it has to be SQL DB because the forum (phpbb)/client will use the same user and password tables. Creating the backend in VB and connecting to that seems to be the simplest way. There are a few hundred users so i don't need top notch security, but a basic encryption will work nicely. thank you very much for taking the time to answer and give advice to my problems. I hope to message you if i run into any trouble
Can an example on this be given? I have been having trouble creating a 'registration' for my client. i am trying to let the user pick a username & password, if username is taken then retry. but so far i am unsuccessful. :\ *edit* I am not sure how to use a textbox& comandbutton along with SQL statements. i am alittle lost on this. Sorry i am new to programming. :\ help?

Would calling a localhost SQL database be done the same way as a normal one? Also, Is jabaco's connection done through calling java libraries and not through vb? if so, this should be documented on the website :\

Most of the website ( other than the forums ) the pages are editable. Why not grant permissions on the download page too. granted its a stable release.
I've been looking and hoping to find another OOP language with a similar IDE to vb6 and Jabaco. I am a huge fan of GUI builders, I love that Jabaco has the Drag and drop feature in their IDE as vb6 did. I would DREAD moving away from this community. If we can "lively " this place up, Manuel, or other developers that have access to the complier code could do updates more often. I have a few suggestions. -Create User classes on the website and allow some users more permissions than others. -Develo...

Quoted trying to add an image to a command button using the picture property, a JPEG that is the same size as the button. In the form design window the image appears to centre itself within the command button with a large border surrounding it. I want the button to fill completely with the image. Is this possible or do I have to replace all my buttons with image boxes? Good question. Any help?
