Jabaco & Java MicroEdtition (for mobile phone devices)

Hi,

to support the development for mobile phone devices in Jabaco, the Jabaco compiler needs an additional compiler step:

Preverify

* first compile to class files,

* then run a Preverify-task (for CLDC-devices)

* then create the jar-archive

Download
Java Platform Micro Edition Software Development Kit 3.0

after installation of JavaME, the file preverify.exe can be found in the folder:
C:\Java_ME_platform_SDK_3.0\bin\

Hi J2ME,

I do not have such a device, so at first you got to figure out if the preverify step is really needed for your Blackberry.
after that ... remember: this board is for suggestions to future developments on the Jabaco-compiler ;)

Dear

using the J2ME for Blackberry is not that direct step or easy let go. First you have to use RIM API, second Blackberry use .COD file while still accepting .Jar & .JAD but that depends on two things: preverify and rapc tools that govern the Blackberry platform.

Anyway, I advise you start developing for normal j2me mobile then after the complete knowledge of the process you can come to rim.

Could you comment/exemplify how could be configured these JDKs to be installed in the same environment/computer, to be possible t build java apps for use in Windows/Linux and Java apps for mobile phones, using the Jabaco IDE ? Could Jabaco handle these two (or more) Java (JDK/JRE and J2ME) environments ?

Only asked so because had not found any other post to clarify this, of course too...

Rgds,

Sven
