Startup issue in Windows 7 RC1

This occurs whenever I startup Jabaco. It happens whether I try to register or leave it till later. It doesn't seem to matter whether I start with raised credentials or not.

Kind regards,
Bruce.

P.S. I have a machine at work with W7 RC1 on it, and it doesn't have this problem.
P.P.S. I am behind a proxy at home but not at work.

Hi.
can you manually load the "loose.dtd" link?
I've tried it and got a 45kB document type description file describing the structure of HTML4.

I have no idea why Jabaco should possibly try to load this file at all.
The string "loose.dtd" does not occur in any Jabaco related file.

Good luck!

Win7 pro

Hi all,

is there any new information about this issue?
I try to get Jabaco running on Win7 pro behind a proxy too.
XPmode doesn't work either, same error message.

Thanks

Please try the following out:

1. Close Jabaco, if it is running
2. Load in Notepad the file Jabco.xml in your Jabaco-directory
3. In the third line is a
<Param Name="CheckVersion" Value="true"/>
change there the Value top "false". So that in the line stand
<Param Name="CheckVersion" Value="false"/>
4. save the file again as Jabaco.xml in the Jabaco-directory
5. Start Jabaco again.

Does it help?

Back again,

no it does not help.

I am still trying to register Jabaco.

Directly after clicking "activate" I get this errormessage.

Isn't there a way to put/enter "license code" and "eMail address" somewhere in the registry?
As long as I cannot register, I cannot compile.

Thanks Hubertus

Try to install and run Jabaco with Administrator rights.

On Win7 you have as default not all needed rights.
So click with the right mouse-key on the program icon and select then from the pop-up-menu "Run as Administrator" (in german: "Als Administrator ausführen").

Hope that it now work.

Thanks for the quick answer,

I know, I it did aleady yesterday with admin rights, installation and registration, without success.
It really depends on the web access which is blocked by the proxy.
A few minutes ago i was able to register via a WLAN connection without proxy.
Now everything is fine.

For a long time I have had no internet-connection at home and registration of Jabaco works.
So you don't need internet, to register Jabaco.

But possibly, if Jabaco "recognized", that an internet-connection exist, then it wants to use the internet (and outputs errors, if it have problems with the connection).
