Java-Framework (JRE) is missing!

Hello & Thanks:
win7 x64

I have installed Jabaco 1.5.2 , downloaded from your site.
But Jabaco won't run, error msg: "Java-Framework (JRE) is missing!"

'programs and features' panel shows I have installed :
Java 7 Update 11 (64-bit) and Java SE Development Kit 7 Update 11 (64-bit) .
Is the Java JRE different than these ?

If so, where can I download JRE ?

Thanks...Vernon

You need to install Java Runtime Environment, that is one requirement for running Jabaco.

But as far as i know if you had installed JDK already it supposed have JRE along with JDK directory.

this the Official statement from java site.

Quoted

Do you want to run JavaTM programs, or do you want to develop Java
programs? If you want to run Java programs, but not develop them, download the
Java Runtime Environment, or JRETM.

Quoted

If you want to develop applications for Java, download the Java Development
Kit, or JDKTM. The JDK includes the JRE, so you do not have to
download both separately.
Maybe there is a problem with your JDK installation? Are you using the JDK for Java application dev? if not you could just replace it with JRE you dont need JDK just to Run Jabaco.

download it from official java site:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/j…oad-432155.html

Hi spysonic;
Yes, I uninstalled all java.
Then installed http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/j…ds-2133155.html
But still get "jre is missing!" .

Then I uninstalled jabaco .
Then tried to reinstalled jabaco, but
I get : Error msg: windows installer: "Invalid command line argument.
consult windows installer SDK for detailed command line help".
Then I get the original Jabaco error msg" "Java-Framework (JRE) is missing!"
Does jre7 and jre8 have any relation to windows7 and windows8 ?
Because I am running win7.
Thanks..vm

Jabaco is a 32bit Program. So it needs a 32bit Java.
You can download a JRE (or if you also wants develkop in Java: the JDK) at
[ http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/j…jsp-138363.html ]

On Windows >= Vista, be sure to install Jabaco and Java with administrator rights and start Jabaco the first time with administrator rights, too.
To do so, click with the right mouse-buttom for example on the Jabaco-install program (jabaco-setup-win32.exe) and select in the upcomming popup-menu "start as Administraor".

If it still don't work, try out the portable Jabaco, which needs no installation:

Post here, if it now works or still not.

Yes.
32bit Java is then in "C:\Program Files (x86)\jre" and the 64bit Java in "C:\Program Files\jre".

Btw:; There are a lot of files already in 32bit AND 64bit on 64bit Windows.
For example the system files (with programs like notepad.exe, calc.exe, etc). 64bit programs and DLLs are in C:\windows\system32. 32bit programs and DLLs are in C:\windows\syswow64.

@theuserbl
your portable jabaco runs ok on my win7 64 bits. but when I try to run the samples, everyone shows error message. When I try to compile to jar, no file is created, and no error message dialog appears too.
